Bringing Your Puppy Home in Connecticut
Because Sterling Brook Doodles is located in Sterling, Connecticut, many Connecticut families are able to pick up their puppy directly from us on Gotcha Day.
We keep our puppies until approximately 8 to 9 weeks of age before they leave for their new homes. Connecticut law also prohibits selling or transferring puppies under eight weeks old.
We'll provide your scheduled Gotcha Day appointment and information about what to bring before pickup.
Preparing for a Doodle Puppy
Before bringing your puppy home, we recommend preparing a safe, comfortable space where they can begin adjusting to their new surroundings.
Common puppy essentials include a properly sized crate, exercise pen, puppy food, food and water bowls, collar, leash, harness, grooming supplies, training treats, toys, blankets, and cleaning supplies.
It's also a good idea to establish a relationship with a Connecticut veterinarian before Gotcha Day so your puppy's ongoing veterinary care is already planned.
